The 2014 Ford C-Max Energi Plug-In Hybrid

The new Ford C-Max in Lynnwood has a revolutionary electric vehicle as part of its lineup. The 2014 Ford C-Max Energi Plug-In Hybrid is the product of years of innovative electrified research and development. Ford has created electric motors that are more powerful, last longer, are lighter and less expensive to make than ever before. This means they are able to provide the U.S. with a rechargeable and refuelable hatchback, for little more than $33K.

The C-Max Energi Plug-In Hybrid starts out using its 7.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack for electric-only driving. After the battery uses up what it has to completely propel the C-Max, the four-cylinder gas engine will kick in, allowing the C-Max Energi to drive in hybrid fashion.

The Environmental Protection Agency has given the 2014 Ford C-Max Energi an official rating of 44 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway. This is similar to the regular C-Max, though the Energi version uses much less fuel.
